12 Dec 2023 NOI, workshop on gender equality and inclusive communication
Eurolabel has started the process to obtain gender equality certification and in order to raise awareness in its community, decided to hold two dedicated workshops.
During the first workshop, Eurolabel’s goals were shared, and it was also an opportunity to analyse the importance of gender equality.
The second workshop, Break the Bias, included a deeper look at the implications of gender bias on professional life and the work market. During the event, Eurolabel’s initiatives to prevent violence in the workplace were announced.
Gender Equality Workshop
The workshop was introduced by Sara Piras from the marketing department, who illustrated the new project NOI – Nature Of Inclusion. NOI incorporates Eurolabel’s sustainability initiatives in the environmental, social and governance field. Alongside Eurolabel’s Sustainability Manager, Valentina Dadda, and Marco Fraschini, Quality Assurance, the regulatory aspects of gender equality were analysed, and Eurolabel’s path to obtain this certification outlined.
The gender equality initiatives are:
- No discrimination during the hiring phase
- Equal pay for equal roles
- Career opportunities and production bonus
- Work-life balance and parental leave
- Prevention of workplace harassment
- Internships and dual training (work-study) programs
- Personal growth and continuous training
Break the Bias Workshop
The Break the Bias workshop provided information on prejudices and stereotypes, with a focus on gender bias, assessing the impact that it has in the professional lives of women, and more generally on the work market. Eurolabel’s goals and initiatives regarding the management of bias in the company and fighting violence in the workplace were illustrated to the community.
Our initiatives to fight bias are:
- Promoting a stimulating, creative workplace which does not discriminate against anyone
- Prohibiting any conduct which could negatively affect any person’s dignity
- Zero tolerance towards harassment and all forms of discrimination
