During this Business Talk, hosted at Eurolabel, participants were able to discover the innovative RFID technology applied to pharma packaging.
This live event, in partnership with Avery Dennison, Murata and Tecno Tag, provided the opportunity to learn first hand how RFID labels are revolutionising the pharma sector.
Thanks to the speeches from professionals in the Pharma & Healthcare sector, attendees learned about new trends in the sector, the basics of RFID technology and case studies, discovering how smart labels can improve efficiency and safety in the management of pharmaceutical products.

Aldo Franco
Aldo Franco is Vice President of the Eurolabel Group which includes Tecno Tag, a company specialised in the converting of RFID solutions and supplier of smart labels for some major brands in the Pharma and Fashion&Luxury sectors.
Francesco Fantoni Guerci
Francesco Fantoni Guerci is CEO of Murata ID Solutions, supplier of RFID and IoT solutions and part of Japanese multinational Murata. In 2020 it won the “Logistics of the year 2020” award in the “Innovative approach to Technology and Logistics 4.0” section, awarded by Assologistica for the project developed for Bayer which involved the application of RFID (Radio Frequency Identification) traceability in the pharma Supply Chain and recording of important information on the Blockchain.

RFID in the Pharma Sector: Cutting-Edge Technology and Market Trends
In the first session of the Business Talk section, Benjamin Read gave an overview of the main RFID technologies, the main trends and dynamics of the pharmaceuticals market. He illustrated and explained which RFID technologies are most widely used in the pharma sector, what the key trends are which are moulding the future of the market, and how these dynamics apply inside pharmaceutical companies. In particular, specific case studies were analysed to help the audience better understand the impact of RFID technologies in the company scenarios.
Optimisation, Challenges and Best Practices for Intelligent Labels
In this session, Aldo Franco concentrated on the converting phase of smart labels. He described in detail the material selection criteria, examining strategies for optimising the functionality of labels.
RFID Tracking Technology
The concluding session, held by Francesco Fantoni Guerci , illustrated how RFID is revolutionising the pharmaceutical procurement chain. He used concrete success cases to illustrate the development of smart labels from the point of view of Systems Integrators, and the benefits in terms of operational efficiency, product traceability and security in the pharmaceutical distribution chain were highlighted.
