16 Feb 2023 Eurolabel’s Sustainable Logistics for Reductions in CO2 Emissions

Eurolabel has officially joined the ambitious project promoted by Avery Dennison, Labels and Packaging Materials (LPM) and Tosca, which aims to transform product distribution through the adoption of reusable plastic pallets.

The initiative aims to significantly reduce CO2 emissions deriving from the European procurement chain, with a goal of over 800 tonnes of CO2 savings per year. The data provided by Tosca, based on an industrial average for materials, production processes and end-of-life impacts, clearly indicate the positive impact that this project will have on the environment.

Eurolabel for Sustainable Logistics with Plastic Pallets

Plastic pallets, chosen for their superior durability compared to wooden pallets, offer numerous benefits.
Their greater strength makes them suitable for more prolonged use, and reduces the risk of damage and waste along the procurement chain. According to Tosca’s estimates, plastic pallets can be reused up to 100 times, and at the end of their life they are recycled.

The adoption of reusable plastic pallets by Eurolabel helps reduce the exploitation of natural resources (through their durability and reuse), responsible waste management (through recycling at the end of their useful life) and promotion of sustainable practices along the procurement chain, as well as representing a strategic collaboration between different companies to achieve sustainable results on a wider scale.
